In June 2006, The Rosalie Fund
was established within The Pittsburgh Foundation's
Fund for Public Giving.
In January 2010, The Rosalie Fund exceeded
$10,000 in contributions and became an active fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation. The fund began grantmaking in December 2011. In the eleven years of being active, The Rosalie Fund has made eleven grants totalling $16,140 to organizations supporting the lives of children and families in the Pittsburgh community.
Each year about 5% of the fund's principal is allocated for grantmaking. Additional money may be contributed by the Bell family to increase the final grant amount, and was done so for the first five grants.
